Old Vegas: 7 Rules of the Dust
When the neon fades, and the silence moves in… you better know the rules.
The Strip might still shimmer, but in Old Vegas, the lights lie. Here, down past the neon graveyards and forgotten diners, survival means knowing more than what the guidebooks tell you. This ain’t for tourists — this is for those who linger in the shadow of the past.
Here are the 7 Rules of the Dust — break them, and you might not make it to sunrise.
1. Never Walk Alone After 3:33 A.M.
If you hear footsteps behind you, they’re not always human. Stay in pairs. Don’t turn around unless you have to.
2. Don’t Trust the Slot Zombies
You’ll see them in the off-brand casinos — eyes glazed, always pulling the lever. They don’t eat, they don’t blink. If one looks at you and smiles, leave. Now.
3. Light Is a Lie
That flickering “OPEN” sign? It’s been on since 1999. Nobody’s been inside since the blackout. Stick to real daylight — or your own flashlight.
4. Never Ask About the Tunnels
People go down into the storm drains. Sometimes to escape the heat. Sometimes to disappear. Ask about it, and you might be next.
5. Don’t Take the Chips
You’ll find stray casino chips on the ground. Some shiny, some cracked. Don’t pocket them. They’re not worth anything — except your soul.
6. Respect the Desert
Old Vegas ends where the sand begins. The Mojave doesn’t care who you are. It’ll bury your secrets and bleach your bones. Hydrate or die.
7. If You Hear Elvis Singing... Run
Not joking. Sometimes you’ll hear it faint — “Can’t Help Falling in Love” on a busted speaker. But there's no speaker. Just keep moving.
